Herbal Tinctures

An herbal tincture is a type of herbal preparation that is ingested to promote wellness and balance. Herbal tinctures are concentrated extracts made by soaking fresh or dried herbs, flowers, berries, roots and bark in a menstruum that draws out the medicinal properties of the plant.

Tinctures are taken orally but, can also be applied directly to the skin as well as incorporated in herbal salves and lotions. When taken orally tinctures can be directly in the mouth, with a few ounces of water like a shot or mixed into tea, juice, smoothies and more.

The benefits from tinctures typically start within 1-2 weeks, but depending on the herb effects may be seen the same day. We all have different sensitivity to plants and routines that will impact how much we will need to take at a time to reach the desired effect.

When taking any kind of new herbal supplement you should always do your own research and consult with your healthcare provider first and foremost.

I am my own healer. I have a radiant voice within that guides me. I can make decisions for myself. I can rely on others as needed, but at my discretion. It is my body, my health, my balance, an my responsibility to make right choices for myself. Right choices include working with competent health-care professionals when necessary, allowing friends and family to help as needed, and, above all, being true to my beliefs, with the wisdom and willingness to change as part of the path of healing.
